On Jan 4th, nearly 1.5 tons of ivory seized in S/Kivu were handed over to ⁦@IccnRdc⁩ for safekeeping. This milestone reflects strong collaboration between stakeholders to protect our natural heritage. While elephants may never return, accountability has been achieved.

We mourn the tragic loss of Mr. Claude Nguo & Mr. Daniel Kwamire, who died in service to nature after a Bat Hawk plane crash in Virunga. True heroes of conservation. Their absence leaves a painful void in the protection of the Congo Basin. 🌿Rest in power. @gorillacd @IccnRdc

Wildlife crime = Organized crime. A Congolese diplomat + 2 others caught with 206kg of cocaine in Bulgaria en route to Turkey. Same routes used for ivory, pangolins, drugs , guns & humans. #DRC is a rising hub of transnational crime. We must connect the dots.
