Netanyahu started a war with Iran that he did not win, except causing human and material losses for Israel & Iran. No matter how he spins his acceptance of ceasefire & genocidal actions in Gaza, he should resign & let Israelis choose a leader who could lead them live in peace.
It is staggering to see the Arab/Muslim countries sitting on their hands in the face of starvation of Palestinians in Gaza & total suppression of women & girls in Afghanistan. Don’t let your conflicting geopolitical interests rob you of humanity’s basic moral & ethical values.
The enmity between Iran and Israel is now so deep that both sides want to devastate each other. Only a US-Iran rapprochement can help bring about regional stability and this requires serious confidence building measures.
By recognising the Taliban government Russia has essentially endorsed the group’s misogyny, polygamy, child marriage, and boy-play. History will be as unkind to Putin as it has been to his Soviet predecessors who brutally invaded and occupied Afghanistan for a decade in the 1980s
If Reza Pahlavi is brought to power with help from outside powers, he will face the same problem of legitimacy as his father did when he regained his throne through a CIA orchestrated coup in 1953. Only the people of Iran can determine their destiny & that of Iran.
NOW: Trump says Israel and Iran "don’t know what the f*ck they're doing."
If President Trump decides to go to war with Iran, it will be a war of choice. It would parallel George W. Bush’s 2003 invasion of Iraq that he has heavily criticised!
With Trump as Israel’s great backer in the White House, Netanyahu’s dedication to the goal of regime change in Iran, & Israel’s inability to end the war in the face of fierce Iranian retaliation, ME is in danger of huge explosion. Diplomacy is badly needed despite the 11th hour
Israel, with US backing, has started an unprovoked war with Iran which will not end in anybody’s victory. Netanyahu must be held accountable for the damage caused to Iran and Israel. & US is dragged into another ME war despite its past & Afghanistan Iraqi debacles
Australia, along with 4 democratic partners, has taken the necessary steps to sanction two Israeli extremist ministers. But these ministers’ policies and actions are fully supported by PM Netanyahu and executed by IDF. Logically, they too deserve to be sanctioned.
It’s time. Recognise Palestine. smh.com.au/politics/feder…
What Israel is doing to the people of Gaza and what the Taliban are inflicting on the people of Afghanistan, especially women, is a huge blot on the global conscience.
India and Pakistan have started firing at one another. Their mutual nuclear military capability may restrain them from engaging in an all out war. theconversation.com/india-and-paki…
Netanyahu’s re-occupation of Gaza must be condemned as a desperate act to avoid trial & imprisonment on fraud charges. He has no regard for the lives of Palestinians or hostages, and wants a Hamas-led insurgency for as long it is in his interest, but not that of Israel.

There is no military solution to the US-Iran nuclear dispute, only a fair diplomatic settlement. War has never worked as a stabilising means in the Middle East. History speaks to this loud and clear.

Before the Taliban’s takeover, women made up about 27% of the public sector workforce in Afghanistan and contributed significantly in the private sector. Under the Taliban, women are banned from most jobs with many now forced to beg for food.
