I have defended Israel's right to destroy Hamas, and I still do; but what's happening to civil society generally and food delivery in particular in Gaza shocks the conscience. Israel needs to own and solve the crisis. The repeated massacres of civilians seeking food must end now.
Thank you (which is not to say I am sometimes not, ummm, unnecessarily abrasive)
Berenson has the capability to check his priors. And reset when there's new info. Look at Gaza. He's drawing the line at starving children. He was also a lone voice during the summer of the vax, sharing data from Israel and the UK showing the vax wasn't ok. This is what makes…
I don’t trust Hamas at all, but the Israeli military is not allowing even limited embedding by independent reporters (as opposed to tours) and is restricting border access. So of course there’s an information vacuum. What is clear is that food distribution has broken down.
Alex, how can you tell what's true in Gaza? The best I can tell there is no reliable sourcing there. But there is lots of Palestinian propaganda repeated by the West. Including by AP.
Spare me the blame game. Israel controls Gaza's borders and its troops have freedom of movement. Israel broke it, Israel owns it. This is either an deliberate effort to starve Gaza into submission (a war crime) or incompetence. Either way, it's doing awful damage to Israel.
There are 950 food trucks in Israel loaded and waiting for the UN.
Israel can't starve the population or force civilians to cross free-fire zones to get food while they're waiting for that to happen. The facts on the ground have changed, and Israel's response must change.
It will end when Hamas surrenders, disarms, and releases all hostages. And not a moment sooner.
Concretely: Israel needs to declare a ceasefire and work with whatever humanitarian agencies will still help it to restore a stable food delivery system, even if doing so aids Hamas. Killing civilians during war isn't a necessarily a war crime; starving an occupied population is.

A reminder: we're just one year (and one day) removed from the bizarre moment @joebiden quit the presidential race (and effectively the presidency) with an X post, then didn't turn up for three days And the media said anyone who asked what was happening was a conspiracy theorist
This… isn’t good
Changing the names of things doesn't make them better or worse, but it can make us feel better or worse about them... Doctors in particular have known this little secret for a REALLY long time
So that makes it better?
Oh, good, now we're talking about my kids. Yep, I vaccinated my kids (with all the standard vaccines) and I couldn't be happier about it, they are awesome and healthy. I am debating what to do about HPV. Should we talk about your kids, Toby? (Do you have kids?)
.@AlexBerenson is a coward & a sh*tty scholar. He vaccinated his kids and he doesn't want to admit that he was wrong. So when it comes to harms from the childhood schedule, he ignores his own Covid methodology (read the original sources, critically) and just repeats mindless…
Evergreen tweet, probably my third-favorite (Can you guess the first two?)
F'ing Berenson.
Mostly changes in diagnosis/widening of diagnostic criteria, some advancing parental age Kids know this, btw: “autism” or “tism” is now a catchall term for them that basically means dumb
So, what's the explanation of autism rates soaring since the 90s?
Who cares what @VPrasadMDMPH thinks about taxes? He's not at OMB. He's at @US_FDA. His job is making sure vaccines and drugs are safe and effective. And he is GOOD at his job. So good that pharma and biotech are desperate to get him out. Luckily @RobertKennedyJr knows better.
The story should be about Vinay breathing life into a moribund FDA so captured by the companies it regulates that it rubberstamped infinite covid boosters for everyone as well as a gene therapy to date now associated with 3 deaths. Vinay was one of the loudest and most…
What no one seems to get: the fact that autism is largely genetic should be a source of RELIEF. If you have an autistic child you can stop blaming vaccines, or buying the wrong stuffed animal, or those clams you ate when you were pregnant. None of it made any difference.
A huge 2019 study covering five countries showed autism is 80% genetic. That means EVERYTHING ELSE is the other 20% "Based on population data from 5 countries, the heritability of ASD [autism spectrum disorder] was estimated to be approximately 80%."
