This week, I joined @ChicagoDOT for a tour of the project on Canal between Adams and Jackson, which is anticipated to be completed by the end of the year. For updates on this project, read today's newsletter: app.indigov.com/pub/outreach/7…

It’s great to hear Mayor Johnson finally wants to address smoking on the CTA with... social workers, a PR campaign, & community meetings? Without data-driven enforcement of existing laws (like I called for last month), this public health issue will continue to impact riders.
Today I introduced a resolution calling on the @CTA to increase transparency, enforce their smoking ban, and install permanent, experienced leadership. These commonsense steps will improve daily lives while increasing ridership, health, and safety. cbsnews.com/chicago/news/c…
Pleasure going on Paris on Politics last night to discuss the potential future of @NASCARChicago. Starts at about 8:30 in here. @paschutz @fox32news fox32chicago.com/video/1678232

I’m optimistic we can find a better weekend for @NASCARChicago and reach a deal that makes financial sense for the city. Appreciate how NASCAR each year made the race less disruptive for downtown and allowed Chicago to shine on the world stage.
BREAKING: The NASCAR Chicago Street Race will not be returning to Chicago in 2026. wgntv.com/sports/nascar_…
Thanks to Commissioner Michael Scott, Jr. and his team for joining us at the @GreenCityMarket at Mary Bartelme Park today! He’s a great partner to collaborate with to connect our constituents with County resources.

Proud to work with @AldermanLaSpata to reduce parking minimums citywide. Grateful to him for his leadership and for working with me to tailor solutions to downtown’s unique needs.

Congratulations to @ChicagoCAPS01 Commander Harris on his well-deserved retirement after 29 years of service with the @Chicago_Police Department!

In today's newsletter, read about City Council and an upcoming community meeting: app.indigov.com/pub/outreach/a…

Yesterday, I recognized the 250th anniversary of the @usarmy and the generations of Chicagoans who’ve proudly served to protect our freedom. Thank you to the leadership team of the U.S. Army’s Chicago Recruiting Battalion for joining us at City Council!

The vote was to override the Mayor’s veto of the Public Safety Curfew. ✅ Yes vote - Give Supt Snelling the authority to declare a curfew when there’s probable cause of imminent danger. ❌ No vote - Deny police that basic tool—even in the face of credible threats.

HUGE TURNOUT for @MaryBartelmePAC Movie in the Park tonight “Mean Girls” Thank you to season platinum sponsor @comcast for supporting and @ChicagoParks for setting this up!

I voted for a higher borrowing threshold bc of recent reckless bonds like the $830M infrastructure bond—which will cost the City over $2B+ including $822M from 2049-2055. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time! We need to start taking some bites for our fiscal health
By one vote, Mayor Brandon Johnson avoids higher borrowing threshold chicago.suntimes.com/politics/2025/…
If we wouldn’t use a credit card like this in our own homes, who do it with taxpayer dollars? The Mayor’s Housing & Infrastructure Bonds were irresponsibly structured. That’s why I support this higher threshold and additional oversight for future borrowing.
Should two-thirds City Council approval be needed for future borrowing? One mayoral critic thinks so chicago.suntimes.com/city-hall/2025…
I'm collecting feedback from 34th Ward neighbors and businesses to learn more about the impact of the 2025 NASCAR Chicago Street Race. To learn more and take the survey, read today's edition of Conway's Corner: app.indigov.com/pub/outreach/8…

The Chicago Board of Trade Museum is now open at 141 W. Jackson, commemorating the storied history of trading in Chicago! @ChicagoDPD This is a great addition as we rebuild our downtown as a place where folks can live, work, and visit. axios.com/local/chicago/…
