"He just snuffs the life out of the tournament." @AlanShipnuck on Scottie Scheffler's dominance at The Open.

Spectacular array of logos on my flight from Dublin to Chicago. I counted 16 related to the Open, 4 Royal County Down, 2 Portstewart and one apiece from Holywood, Ardglass, Castlerock, Portmarnock, Waterville and Lahinch. Golf logos have to be a huge part of the Irish economy!
I’m already missing Portrush, and this made it worse! Take a few moments to savor this magical thread.
Links golf hits differently. Official photographers have taken more than 20,000 photos at @TheOpen so far this week. I scanned through them all to pick the 25 best. Enjoy 🧵
Lol it was balmy with no wind and Bryson finished a backdoor 10th. I think Adam Scott's point still stands.

We are witness to something very special with Scottie. My game story for @Skratch from Royal Portrush: skratch.golf/news/pro-golf/…
Very much so.
Is this what writing about golf felt like in 2000? @AlanShipnuck
First tee, in the hushed quiet after Scottie’s tee shot, a lone voice rings out: “C’mon, Rory!”
If you want to see elite hand gestures, watch this clip.
This week @AlanShipnuck wrote about Rory McIlroy & called him “introspective” in a @Skratch story. So Garrett put the wordsmith on the spot and asked him how he arrived at this conclusion. It was like asking Bono about writing “With or Without You.” Chat: youtu.be/WL53t2_OU-Y?si…
For @Skratch I wrote a fun little yarn about a day at the Open with the lads. skratch.golf/news/golf-cult…
Appears folks are mad at me for passing along the quote below. Note that last year Bryson himself said of his Open chances (sans irony), “I can do it when it’s warm and not windy.” Today is likely to be the easiest scoring day of this Open. Let’s see how he fares on the weekend!
In the wake of Bryson's woebegone 78, thinking of what Adam Scott told me at last year's Open: "His style of play is super optimized for every week of the year except for this one. So as a business decision, he's making the right choice. But what makes this tournament so cool is…

In his defense, probably the first time he’s ever applied sunscreen…

My favorite course in the world and maybe the best logo: @Crudenbaygolf. Having lost a few of my hats over the years I had to have @RuMacdonald bring me a re-up at Portrush.

Relaxed players + jovial fans makes for delightful Tuesday evening viewing in the 18th hole grandstand. “Congrats on the new baby, Jordan!” Spieth smiles and waves…and then gets an ovation for signing autographs for 10 minutes.

Fookin brilliant piece, Ship 🏆
Rory and Shane, Shane and Rory. They are the co-headliners at this Open, the de facto defending champ and the prodigal son returning home. For @Skratch I went deep on their long friendship and what it means to each man, and the island that raised them. skratch.golf/news/pro-golf/…
