Well done and congratulations to @petulamartyn, the absolute standout choice to succeed @HalloranCathy as RTE's Mid-West correspondent
BREAKING: Limerick woman appointed to a top role in RTE limerickleader.ie/news/business/…
The Blades in blistering form at @mydolans Limerick tonight. Argue about the other nine but Downmarket is one of the 10 greatest Irish singles ever released
Warmly recommended and new on Netflix - We Live In Time, directed by Ireland’s John Crowley. Beautiful performances by Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield

Eyecatching performance off the bench by Owen Farrell there - and that master photographer @BillyStickINPHO always knows a story when he sees one #LionsTour2025

Congratulations to @MarkLTighe and @mariecrowe for winning a Justice Media Award for their two and half year joint investigation into widespread allegations of inappropriate behaviour made by women against Irish male soccer coaches #JMA25 #rteinvestigates
10 Carlyle Square, Chelsea - owned for years by Edna O'Brien and where she hosted many famous names. In straitened circumstances she sold it for £375,000: a "personal tragedy" she said, and it was soon worth millions. Current valuation £12m. Needs a blue plaque to the great Edna

Not bad company (mostly) for @irelandsown1902 to be in here #Islington

Stu Wilson, the @AllBlacks legend who has died at 70, gave me such a great interview for my book Stand Up and Fight that I made him one of the central characters. He was there in spirit at the launch 20 years ago last month, when I read out his lovely message. Rest in peace, Stu

Hats off to the @impartialrep team on their superb 200th anniversary edition, which really does justice to the newspaper's remarkable story. Inspired me to dig out the 64-page supplement we produced for the Limerick Leader's 125th anniversary in 2014 - another labour of love

Thanks to @adamnagourney for writing (over 7 years) this enthralling history of The New York Times since 1976. The most enjoyable book about a newspaper/news organisation I've read since Stick It Up Your Punter!, the story of a very different paper (The Sun). Hugely recommended

At last! Probably the best feeling in 52 years as a Spurs fan! #TOTMUN #Tottenham #GloryGlory

There will be 12-year-olds today talking in 2095 about seeing Cian Lynch play hurling. Genius at work #LimVsCork #hurling 🇳🇬

Great to read warm tributes to #BrianGlanville by Martin Samuel & @JNorthcroft in The Sunday Times. Brian sat beside me when making his weekly visit to the ST after he'd returned to the paper. It was always an education - and fun. This fine memoir came out around then. A legend

It was lovely to get the traditional (and moving) knockdown at Independent House yesterday evening followed by drinks with so many great people. A farewell I'll always remember. Thanks, too, to people on here for their kind comments (well, mostly). Nice day for new beginnings 🌞
For the last time and in the traditional way… Editor Alan English leaves the Sunday Independent newsroom… and naturally (in the traditional way) goes straight to the pub. @AlanEnglish9
This is the front page of my final edition of the Sunday Independent, after five years and four weeks in the job. Inside a big paper is the surprise interview trailed top left plus a whole lot more. It's been a joy and a privilege, thanks to a hugely committed team. Over and out

Sunday Independent front page. Lots inside. Happy Easter to all

Thank God for that - very nearly as nerve-wracking as watching Rory! #COYS
WE'RE INTO THE SEMI-FINALS!!!
Surely the most dramatic tournament in golf history - with Rory the massively deserving champion. The level of pressure he battled his way through was unbearably off the scale #Masters2025 #Rory #hallelujah #andbreathe

And the late front page of Sport. Fingers and toes crossed for Rory tonight #Masters2025
