Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#491): Meiling has nightmares about a Chinese God of destruction named Taisui Xingjun. We’ve never seen him mentioned outside of Meiling’s dream.. so there is a possibility he’s not even real.

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#490): Auto is implied to have some experience as a shrine maiden, since her family specialized in Shinto worship. Futo even uses her shrine maiden-like outfit to blend in by looking less like a Taoist.

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#489): Suwako and Kanako are a special type of god, one that has a physical body! This may not seem unique, but shown in SSiB, the majority of gods can’t be seen with the human eye and are instead summoned by shrine maidens, ESPECIALLY shrine gods.

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#488): Sannyo's tobacco is a sham! The tobacco that she smokes is supposed to be very high class, since she uses it as the head of a gambling house.. but is actually of poor quality.

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#487): The animal realm is mostly metropolis, with a small section of garden for human spirits. This purposefully resembles the Daisenryo Kofun, an ancient tomb in the city of Sakai!

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#486): Out of all the species in Gensokyo, fairies are the most common (more common than humans)! This is because fairies exist as long as there is nature, and Gensokyo is not urbanized.

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#485): Reimu's job is to keep the balance of Gensokyo, which means exterminate youkai when they are causing trouble. However, Reimu gets bored often and exterminates youkai for fun.. angering a few characters.

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#484): Phantoms are not always youkai! The majority of phantoms have no sort of special powers that youkai possess. Instead, there are rarer sub-species of phantoms that are considering youkai, for example Murasa's status as a "ship phantom."

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#483): Even though the Bunbunmaru news articles are often poorly written, some still read it because of fresh headlines not conflicting with other newspapers! Aya accomplishes this by causing the events in her stories. Troublemaker!

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#482): Mike Goutokuji is very, very carefree. In fact, she describes herself as being "happily unemployed." Relatable to touhou fans!

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#481): In many of Byakuren Hijiri's appearances, she is shown with a colorful, giant, magical floating scroll. This scroll has a name, the Sorcerer's Sutra Scroll!

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#480): Sanae isn't just a shrine maiden, she is also a Wind Priestess/Shaman! These are humans who create miracles by summoning wind and/or rain through summoning a wind god.

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#479): Saki Kurokoma's ability is.. strong leg strength? Her leg strength is unmatched, and features in her many "agile style" spell cards.

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#478): The Dream World has a lot of PC-98 references attached to it. For example, the fairies from Makai are present inside! Even the dream world being stage 3 in LoLK is a reference to its role in Lotus Land Story and Story of Eastern Wonderland.

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#477): Most people know Satori owns pets, but Koishi owns multiple pets of her own as well! She briefly mentions owning some in her debut appearance in TH11.

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#476): Reimu Hakurei has a very hard time remembering Youkai's names and faces. There's been plenty of times she even mixes characters up, like thinking Parsee is Alice in the TH11 cross review!

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#475): Parsee is depicted as having green eyes in her character portrait and described as having green eyes in her character titles. Yet somehow, an error slipped by and she has blue eyes in her Subterranean Animism sprite!

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#474): Many people think Youmu is irresponsible because she is airheaded, but this is not true! She is responsible for many jobs in the netherworld, and personal tasks for Yuyuko like cooking for her, waking her, and entertaining her. Unpaid too..

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#473): The lunarians, being pure, have a “weakness” to impurity. This isn’t a physical weakness though, more like a pattern that someone could exploit. A good example is Serian, she visited hell with distress but turned out fine.

Akyuu's Daily Touhou Fun Fact! (#472): Have you wondered why Kagerou seems transformed into a wolf despite there not being a full moon? Well.. she just always has ears! From what we know, her full moon transformation includes gaining a lot of hair, which Kagerou very much hates.
