Dark Sonic was the result of Sonic harnessing Negative Chaos Energy from the Fake Emeralds around him. Fake Emeralds or not, that's irrelevant. That's still Chaos Energy he's absorbing. This is the same dude who managed to use Chaos Control with a Fake Emerald.

"There's no such thing as positive and negative energy, it was a mistranslation!" ...Then what the fuck was Chaos doing before Sonic beat him up at the end of SA1? How do you explain that without the concept of Positive and Negative Chaos Energy?!
