Had a great time talking NIL this morning on our new weekly segment, Sports Business Weekly, on @SiriusXMNFL Be sure to catch us every Friday at 9:00 AM, as we dive deeper into the business side of NFL and College Football.
Players who are voting: I understand you’ve been kept out of the loop. Listen to @pablofindsout podcast or read the article by @kalynkahler . JC Tretter seems just as culpable (if not more) than Lloyd Howell. @ZavenCollins @VonMiller @ShelbyHarris93 @ColeKmet @ZiggySmalls_
All 32 NFL player reps were on a call last night to discuss the next NFLPA executive director. It’s shaping up to be a two-man race: JC Tretter, who has majority support, and Don Davis. There’s other names, but these are the lead candidates, per sources.
Said he’d land the backflip with no spot before turning 6. He nailed it!!! Proud of you kiddo!
Hey, @grok, who was the most famous person to visit my profile? It doesn't need to be a mutual, don't tag them, just say who it was.
I figured the concession on SB payout schedule could get it done. I’m just very surprised the concession was only $500k. That’s really not that much when considering the full amount of SB. I thought between 65-75% upfront would be the concession. Meaning the low amount upfront…
50% would have been $5.2M now, $5.2M in December. Now: $5.7M today, $4.8M in December. One of the sillier holdouts-for both sides-finally ends, and Stewart can start playing catchup. Squabbling over virtually nothing in the end. And the cost is several weeks of time on task.
The Bengals were not willing to make concessions on adding the language. It was a take it or don’t sign mentality. Sounds like concessions were made. All it takes is communication and some negotiating.
The #Bengals and No. 17 overall pick Shemar Stewart have agreed to terms on his fully guaranteed four-year contract, per his agency LAA. After a lengthy standoff over contract language, Stewart got improved payout language can now get on the field.

Would love to know the default language in this contract. Tomorrow morning on @SiriusXMNFL The Opening Drive’s Sports Business Weekly, we dive back into default language, specifically, “conduct detrimental to the club.” Catch us tomorrow at 9:00 EST.
ESPN sources: Raiders are releasing defensive tackle Christian Wilkins with the designation of terminated vested veteran. His time in Las Vegas is now over. Due to how Wilkins treated the rehab from his foot injury he suffered last season, the Raiders voided the remaining $35.2…
It’s long been rumored that the NCAA will change its rules to allow all athletes to play five season in five years. Looks like that may happen at the D2 level. I assume DI is waiting to see what happens with all of the eligibility rules litigation and federal legislation.
Division II Management Council supports a proposal for five seasons of competition and advances other proposals at its meeting earlier this week. 🔗 on.ncaa.com/25JulyDIIMC #MakeItYours
We talked a lot about what is going on with the NFLPA on Friday’s version of The Opening Drive’s Sports Business Weekly on @SiriusXMNFL.
JC Tretter is resigning from the NFLPA, per @jjones9. cbssports.com/nfl/news/jc-tr…
Ted is amazing! What he does for the Village of Merici and this city cannot be understated. Also, of course I tried to talk to him about what is going on with the NFLPA, and the professional that he is, he only wanted to talk about his foundation and the amazing people there.…

Finally saw Sinners, brilliant movie. Also, that soundtrack is 🔥🔥🔥.
One of my favorite conversations to have is the inevitable addition of the 18th game to the NFL schedule and the negotiations that MUST be had between the NFL and the NFLPA.
VERY interesting conversation with @AgentJesseJames on Talking Football with Bengal Jim & Friends this past week. Owners pushing for 18 week season. Watch this clip and share your thoughts. Subscribe and watch : youtube.com/live/ys-pnOtMS…

I imagine we will pivot to discuss Lloyd Howell’s resignation as well.

For those of you hating on Shemar Stewart, I urge you to read this. I have been on numerous Bengals podcasts and @SiriusXMNFL saying a lot of what Joel is saying. However, I did not know Mims’ contract language. This is great insight from Joel Corry cbssports.com/nfl/news/agent…
An almost 10% increase in guarantees over last year’s pick 11 in round 2, Max Melton. Picks 3-7 may still wait on Tyler Shough and how much he gets fully guaranteed, but dominoes should start to fall in round 2.
The next big domino in the second round has fallen: 49ers’ second-round pick Alfred Collins, the No. 43rd overall selection, reached agreement tonight on a four-year, $10.3 million deal that includes over $9 million guaranteed and now is expected to trigger multiple second-round…
