I see there's a new invasive tick in the US. I also see the old Plum Island/Lyme's Disease conspiracy theory is popping up again. Spirochetes are nothing new and ticks are amazing vectors.

I went remote, and my immediate underling left for Vet School shortly after. My replacement in the lab had only been there a year prior to me leaving. She is too new to have seen or been trained on some of the weirder things. I am now trying to train her from afar. Oof.

Did the final walk through today on the house we're buying. Discovered the drain for the AC was clogged and water was getting where it shouldn't. A/C guy was across the street working on another house. Comes over and fixes it for us, and only charges us $50.

All I want is to buy a house. This process was first delayed by the seller dragging their feet over $150 repair causing us to reschedule the VA appraisal. Then the bank FORGOT Juneteenth was a federal holiday in their scheduling calculations. Pray it all comes together soon.

I wonder if I could figure out a way to crochet with invasive python leather? Would it hold up to being cut into thin straps and used like a tape yarn?
