I’m excited to share that I’ve just submitted the first draft of a longer project for @ivpress on Christian worship. Heaven on Earth (title subject to change!) is a biblical theology of worship that incorporates the insights of liturgical scholars from various traditions aimed at…

The gospel of John is the greatest gospel tract ever to be written. I love that Crossway did this.
FYI, we put together this edition for that very purpose: crossway.org/bibles/esv-gos…
The Gospel of John is a great book to recommend for new or not-yet Christians, because it’s a detailed argument for faith in Jesus. John treats his readers like jurors as he lays out the case for Jesus by marshaling witnesses and evidence (signs).
Hypocrisy is exhausting because you’re constantly working to keep up an image that’s fake. One reason many are fed up with church is because they feel the need to pretend like they fit into a perfect community that doesn’t actually exist. This means instead of actually confessing…
Made a simple video talking about the gift of tongues from Acts 2 and 1 Corinthians 12-14. I don’t think God ordinarily gives the gift of tongues today, but there’s still a lot we can learn from it.
One of the problems with modern day 'tongue-speaking' is that it is almost always done without the gift of interpretation. — @AdrielTweets

Why have I been awkwardly knocking on watermelons for all these years?
Never pick a bland watermelon again 🍉
The look of horror on the face of Astronomer CEO, and his knee-jerk attempt to hide has been the human response to being caught in sin since the days of Adam (See Genesis 3:8). Frankly, I think the face he made is one every single Christian makes at some point in their life. It's…
NEW: Astronomer CEO caught on camera with his HR chief during a Coldplay concert in Boston. The pair was seen rushing to cover their faces in horror when they realized they were on the big screen. “Oh what... either they're having an affair or they're very shy,” said Coldplay's…
The worship service is an ascent to heaven that transforms us into effective witnesses of Christ's glory on earth.
"What if I'm not one of the elect?" @AdrielTweets answers a common anxiety around unconditional election.
"I was first introduced to the doctrine of unconditional election when I was in college, and to be honest with you, I didn't like it at all. I had a visceral reaction to the doctrine." — @AdrielTweets
What a fun conversation with someone who has influenced my thinking for my whole life. I still remember Michael's apologetics course when he was a visiting professor at RTS in DC (I was circa 30). I was deeply shaped by a week with him, and it is gratifying to give something back

Sad to hear about Pastor John MacArthur's death. May God comfort his family and bless Grace Community Church. Over the years, I've met many Christians who fell in love with the Bible by listening to MacArthur's sermons. I give thanks to God for that legacy.
Oldest had the chance to learn from Clark Gracie today. I know my days are numbered.

Alastair did a great job in this discussion. If you've been tracking at all with the whole "sin of empathy" or "toxic empathy" conversation, it's worth listening to this.
I was recently invited on the @UnbelievableFE podcast to discuss the contested concept and practice of 'empathy' with @joe_rigney. We had a wide-ranging and occasionally spirited discussion. I also found out that Andy Kind and I briefly attended the same school at the same time!
Lots of guys want to have Keller level influence without talking about Jesus like Keller did.
I really appreciate Alastair’s biblical reflections here.
Several problems with this should be obvious to anyone with a modicum of biblical knowledge. We should rehearse some of the biblical narrative here and reflect upon it. First, Israel's own experience in Egypt was paradigmatic for how it treated strangers (Leviticus 19:34).
The first year we planted our church, I introduced a new hymn and prefaced it with “Just a heads up this one’s a little more challenging.” When I said that I think it intimidated everyone from singing, so I ended up singing all four verses as a solo accompanied by piano.
The modern day worship leader is something of a historical anomaly. In a short span of time it became a new church office that often entrusted the best guitarist in church with the priestly burden of mediating God’s presence.
“In the 20th century, worship leader, at least as we know it, was a new church ministry or office that dropped out of the sky.” — @AdrielTweets
