Indeed, and let's not forget that California currently has almost 50 different AI bills pending. Massively confusing situation developing in the States on AI policy.
California's reaction to the AI Action Plan just underscores the need for a pause on state AI regulations.
The administration’s AI Action Plan aligns closely with these priorities by stressing how “[a] coordinated Federal effort would be beneficial in establishing a dynamic, ‘try-first’ culture for AI across American industry.” @AdamThierer
It’s great to see the White House supporting a freedom to train. Congress should take notice and put this issue to bed: techpolicy.press/to-preserve-us…
one wonders if these New York Times journalists even bothered reading past page one of the AI Action Plan. There's lots of discussion and recommendations about AI oversight and guardrails in there. They should get their facts straight.
That’s a stretch, @nytimes! The Action Plan calls on the U.S. to accelerate AI innovation while simultaneously investing in AI interpretability and biosecurity, evaluating national security risks in frontier models, and combating synthetic media.
