Attempts to ban the importation of hunting trophies are performative conservation, at best. They let politicians check a box and off the hook, allowing them to avoid addressing real challenges facing wildlife, like habitat loss. Nature deserves better.

Wildlife deserves a better press and informed politicians. Proud to be a signatory of this letter. Endless misinformed focus on trophy hunting (which is not a threat to any species, a proven benefit to some, and conserves habitat) is a major problem. dailymaverick.co.za/article/2025-0…
