clerith is SO easy to see in many ships because its core tropes are so popular in romances: - sunshine girl x grumpy boy - girl x her bodyguard / princess x knight - tragic doomed love - connected beyond death & space - yearning a lotta good ships have at least one of the above

FF7 is a love story with other elements tied around it. ➡️ Guy falls in love with gal and then they get split apart by the villain. This is a basic romantic trope used in COUNTLESS love stories. FF7 is no different.
