RECORD *SMASHED* 🌡️💥 @CentralParkNYC dropped 26° in ONE HOUR, the largest drop ever recorded 🤯 Look at how strong the backdoor cold front was crossing #NYC! 🥶👀

So glad I was able to see the #R211 on the (B) this morning before the big move 🚇🙌 Hoping more R211’s make it to the Brighton line soon! @MTA @NYCTSubway

#NYC area #radio enthusiasts -- does anyone hear the 42.8 mHz Armstrong broadcast? I have 89.1 WFDU clear but not 42.8, also likely some interference with WiFi/lights on the SDR not helping.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning continues for New York NY, Brooklyn NY and Staten Island NY until 4:00 PM EDT. This storm will contain wind gusts to 70 MPH!
🚨 HELLO #CLEVELAND!! 👋 I am thrilled to announce that I’ll be joining the incredible Power of 5 Weather team in #CLE! I can’t wait to work with Trent, Katie, Phil and the incredible #News5 team, and to provide accurate, dependable forecasts for #NEO. 🙌

🌊🚨 #NYC ADDS TO THE RECORD BOOKS 📝 @CentralParkNYC recorded more than *TWO INCHES* of #rain in just *ONE HOUR* from 6:51 to 7:51 PM. It's the 2nd wettest hour in recorded HISTORY only trailing the devastating floods of #Ida in 2021. #NYCwx #flood

🌊⚠️ *INCREASED* #FLOOD RISK for #NYC Flooding downpours likely to develop near and just west of the city. A tier 3/4 risk now across most of NJ. WPC has upped its forecast for excessive rainfall later this afternoon & evening, and a FLOOD WATCH in effect from 2PM to midnight.

Watch out S&W of #NYC 🌀⚠️ Locally damaging flooding expected this afternoon with slow-moving tropical downpours from the remnants of #Chantal
There is increasing confidence in a highly localized area of heavy rain (as much as 4-6 inches) along the I-95 corridor from around Philly to Trenton this afternoon/evening. While not everybody in this area will experience that rainfall, those that do can expect flash flooding.
I find it awesome that the radio wishes you a Happy 4th of July 🇺🇸🎆📻 Incredible #Eskip in #NYC right now with @Y102krny over nearby WBAB! #FMDX

#NYC #SEVERE #STORM THREAT ⚡️⚠️ Biggest threat is flooding downpours with any “training” storms, those that sit over the same areas for a while. 60 mph gusts and lots of lightning also on the table. Timing is 3PM to 9PM ⏰

🌡️ 2PM TEMP CHECK: #Newark has officially hit 100° ⚠️ and Central Park is up to 95° with a heat index of 104° 🥵 The sea breeze is moving inland so coastal neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Queens are *slightly* cooler, but the heat index is 100+ everywhere!

This is ABSURD! 🌡️🥵 It’s 8AM and it already FEELS like 103° at @JFKairport. That’s what 88° with a 79° dew point does. Swamp-like heat!

🌡️🥵🚨 *DANGEROUS* HEAT ARRIVES IN #NYC Highs will tie or break records Monday & Tuesday with feels-like temperatures in the 100s both afternoons ⚠️ LIMIT your time outdoors and stay in the cool comforts of A/C as much as possible. #NYCwx #heatwave #hot #weather

🌡️🥵🚨 *EXTREME HEAT WATCH* issued for #NYC MON and/or TUE could be the 1st 100° day in 13 *years* — last time the city hit it was in 2012. The average is one 100° day every 2.58 years 📆😮 Feels-like temps likely 100-105°+ from Sunday through Wednesday ⚠️

WOW!⚡️📸 What a storm. From front-end mammatus to a shelf cloud with scudding, this storm packed a punch across southern parts of #NYC. ⛈️#StormHour #NYCwx

(4:50PM) #SEVERE T-STORM WARNING for #NYC ⚡️🚨 Frequent lightning, 60 mph gusts and hail being reported as this powerful storm moves through the city. Captured a rotating wall cloud over lower Manhattan too. 📸 Stay inside!

🌡️🚨 The first major *HEAT DOME* of 2025 is on the way next week and there’s a BIG signal for EXTREME heat in #NYC. *Too soon* for details but ALL major models show 100+ next Tuesday (24th). Even with the model blend correction, 95°+ is very likely with a fair shot at 100°.

If you’re near a radio, listen up! 📻🔊 Classic east coast “E-skip” right now with Miami radio stations making it in to #NYC! This is @Y100MIAMI in Brooklyn a few min ago. Pretty cool! #FMDX #ESkip

yeah worried it might have peaked already this mroning after sunrise local time, hope tonight we get another surge.
Protons falling off quickly now and it looks like the flux rope has arrived and it’s positive so unless something changes for tonight. Chances of lights in the US are not looking promising. Not impossible but not promising. We’ll see how the data changes through the day.
