I miss Ben! I think about his commentary on women in science a lot. That commentary inspired me to take actions on promoting women in science 14 years ago

Always so proud to be a part of Ben’s scientific family tree 🤍 I wish I could have spoken with him more than a couple times, but I know that so much of the way Ben approached science was passed down to me from my PhD mentor, and I’m so grateful for that!

I don’t know if you are familiar w/Dr. Ben Barres, a Stanford scientist lost much too soon, but Dr. Barres was a champion of many a human/civil rights endeavor, and from what I’ve heard a kind and brilliant mentor. This is a story that needs telling and money is being raised.
