Parks do more than bring joy, they drive our economy! According to NRPA’s Economic Impact of Local Parks report, local parks & rec agencies generated nearly $201 billion in economic activity and supported 1.1 million jobs in 2021. This boosted labor income by over $63 billion!

The John A. White Pool will be closed Friday, July 11, Saturday, July 12 & Sunday, July 13 for emergency repairs on a collapsed sewer line. The pool will reopen on Monday, July 14. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we appreciate your cooperation.

This National Parks and Rec Month, we’re diving into water safety! 💦 Through our pools, splashpads, and youth swim lessons, we’re making sure every child has a safe and fun way to enjoy the water because water safety saves lives. #BuildTogetherPlayTogether

This past Sunday & Tuesday, our Camp Best Friend campers had the unforgettable experience of attending the FIFA Club World Cup matches at Mercedes‑Benz Stadium. Huge thanks to @CityofAtlanta Mayor Dickens, @FIFACWC, Showcase Atlanta, and @MARTAtransit for making this possible!




Have fun and celebrate responsibly! This July 4th weekend, relax, play, and enjoy the beauty of our parks and green spaces. But after the fun, please dispose of any trash. Skip the fireworks — they're prohibited. Let's celebrate responsibly and keep our parks safe!

In observance of the July 4th holiday, all Recreation, Aquatic Centers, Outdoor Pools, and Camp Best Friends activities and locations will be closed Friday, July 4. Operating hours for City of Atlanta public golf courses will not be affected.

Yesterday, the Atlanta Water Safety Coalition hosted the World’s Largest Swim Lesson at Thomasville Pool. This marked Atlanta’s 3rd year participating in the global event to prevent childhood drowning. Kids learned essential swim skills while having fun! 💦
