Last night, members and guests gathered for a special ceremony celebrating Darren Clarke and Graeme McDowell. In their honour, two holes were renamed: the 9th on the Dunluce now Darren Clarke’s, and the 7th on the Valley now McDowell’s — a fitting tribute on our historic links.
2018 Open champion @F_Molinari received the Arnold Palmer Open Award to recognise what a friend he has been to golf writers throughout his career. Asked about his wins & appearances, Francesco delighted diners by replying: "It is the other Molinari who is good with numbers."
The AGW also welcomed @Beany25 to the Annual Dinner where she was presented with the Michael Williams Oustanding Services to Golf Award and was involved in an excellent Q&A.
Rory McIlroy was at the Annual Dinner to receive the AGW 2024 Golfer of the Year award.
The 2025 AGW Annual Dinner got off to a spectacular start with the arrival of surprise guest @McIlroyRory. The Masters champion was in great form and received a standing ovation.
A big thank you to members, their guests, invited guests and sponsors for a wonderful 2022 AGW Annual Dinner. It was a lovely evening in the R&A Pavilion overlooking the first fairway.

@Edgbaston_GC was beautiful today in sunshine with @AGWgolfwriters playing a competition in memory of top journo Michael Williams. The course was in great nick for the club’s Men’s Scratch Open this Friday. Couple of spots still available on start sheet atm
