I also find it highly amusing that many of those who won't let go of the narrative that creatine is awesome for LBM keep sharing OUR meta as proof this is wrong...where none of the studies included a washin... which is why we then did THIS study! Come at me confirmation bias😆
Hah! Too many posts/misinfo to keep up. In summary... No-creatine is not worthless No-this was not a meta No-we did not use a placebo No-we didn't say take truckloads Do I think a washin matters?-Yes Do I think creatine has limited impact on LBM?-Yes Do I still take creatine?-Yes
Given that muscle is somewhere between 40-60% of DXA lean mass... the lack of lean mass difference would be even less with Creatine supplementation... we've know for sometime that Creatine's. Effects are small. This study underscores the point 🤷🏻♂️
A new study suggests that creatine doesn’t boost lean mass gains beyond resistance training alone — and it’s stirring debate. I’ve already gotten dozens of questions about it. So…what’s going on here? Researchers tested creatine with and without resistance training — with a…
The effect of creatine on lean body mass with or without resistance-training 💪 This new study recruited 63 participants (34 females + 29 males) who were randomised into two groups… 1️⃣ Creatine (5 g/day for 13-weeks) 2️⃣ Control (no creatine or placebo) Both groups started…
Great work! Really looking forward to future, longer-term studies that actually measure muscle growth (including mechanisms) from creatine. The nuances of lean body mass are endless and so misleading 🤓
Out today! our new study highlighting the need for a washin phase when studying creatine and muscle growth. We show that the effects of creatine at standard doses may be overestimated due to methodological flaws. @darrencandow @asmithryan @imtiazdesai unsw.edu.au/newsroom/news/…
I’d like to be clear; I didn’t contribute to this article & my work has been misrepresented. Genuinely sad to see the same myths doing the rounds again. I’m happy to speak with any journalist who’d like to accurately represent the science & women’s sport theguardian.com/football/2025/…

Nice to contribute to this piece on pre-workouts! Pre-workout myself I just like some caffeine☕️ and some delicious carbs🥯, then I will have some creatine and make sure I have adequate protein throughout the day. Simples! abc.net.au/news/health/20…

I really don’t know what to say, which is a new experience for me! I’m a bit overwhelmed! Thanks @fi_tomas_ for choosing me. Also huge thanks to everyone I work with (at the Centre of Excellence for Women in Sport @McrInstSport @UKSportsInst); it takes a village to do research!
