I seem Bumrah's action, live like Steyn's run-up & sound as Anderson's outswinger. Editor @Ksportswatch. Work @BBC @ESPNcricinfo @ForbesIndia @JioHotstar & 25+
#Thread A list of important stories I did in 2022: 1. A piece on the huge fast bowling talent pool in J&K for @ESPNcricinfo! I spoke to many former bowlers, who all agreed that after Umran Malik, other pacers from J&K can come forward too. 1/n espncricinfo.com/story/jammu-an…
India will play two spinners at Edgbaston. I think they should go with Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar and drop Jadeja. He has been below par in overseas Tests. Washi bats really well and Kuldeep can be lethal. #ENGvIND
I don’t understand how a 100 or any other milestone has anything to do with the culture. You’re in the nineties and there’s a lot of time, why wouldn’t you want that triple-digit score? If none of it meant anything, why do you have honour boards? #ENGvsIND
It should feel like a win for India. They fought against all the odds. Jadeja and Washington deserved those hundreds too. #ENGvsIND
On dull innings for Bumrah and there are discussions of his retirement! Do people expect him to take 5 wickets in each innings? Has there ever been a bowler who never had an off day? Now about him playing all the matches. He knows his body way better than we ever could. #ENGvIND
You really have to feel for Abhimanyu Easwaran. 15 new players have made their Test debut since he was first named in the squad. I understand he hasn’t done too well in overseas A tours but he at least deserves a few chances. #ENGvsIND
It wasn’t easy out there. England bowlers rarely gave any lose balls. So, saying Jadeja should’ve taken more risks is easier said than done. I feel he played exceptionally well and should be applauded and not criticised. #ENGvIND
Seems like umpires have lost control in the modern-day game. They just watch things happen. They’re the ones in control and they have to take charge. Otherwise, we would keep seeing tactical delays, overrate problems and stuff. #ENGvsIND
NEW: The picturesque Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar will host J&K’s first match of the upcoming #RanjiTrophy against Mumbai. #Kashmir could get to witness int’l stars like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane and others for the first time ever.
Exclusive: J&K pacer Rasikh Salam is likely to play for Baroda in the upcoming domestic season alongside his #RCB teammate Krunal Pandya. He has gotten the NOC from JKCA.
NEW: J&K & #RCB pacer Rasikh Salam might play for a different state team in the upcoming domestic season. He will however need an NOC from JKCA before being eligible to shift. Let’s see whether JKCA lets him go or not.
Spoke to the man behind Dukes ball to listen to what he thinks maybe the reason of the ball going soft, as indian captain Gill wondered after second Test. Jajodia wants new balls taken between 60 and 70 overs. Puts part of blame on more sixes and powerful bats
NEW: Umran Malik finally regains full fitness and has returned to action. He picked up 3 wickets today in Srinagar in the ongoing T20 trial matches. Took two wickets a day before as well. Should be available for the entire upcoming domestic season.
A win to remember for India but I hope this shouldn’t make them stick to this batting-heavy plan going forward. I know it worked real well in this match but I’m not sure if it will bear long-term results. Great win no doubt but a better team combination could do wonders. #ENGvIND
What a win for India! None of us expected this team to even compete with no Bumrah but kudos to Shubman Gill and co. #ENGvIND
I was unsure of Shubman Gill, the Test batter, especially after he was handed the captaincy, but in the two matches in ENG so far, he proved that he has it in him. I know the pitches were flat, but it still takes a lot to score big knocks as a newly appointed Indian captain.
When you play defensive cricket, you rarely make things happen. The Indian Test team under Gambhir suddenly looks hopeless. It happens when one man makes all the calls. Can there be a turnaround? If yes, how? #ENGvIND
India has to call up Anshul Kamboj. Not saying he will come and perform magic straightaway but at least, he has the skills to do well in English conditions. With no Bumrah, India has to do something different to even compete in the 2nd Test. Thoughts? #ENGvIND
If you can’t defend 350 runs (minus 21 on day 4) on the final day of a Test match in England, your bowling attack is below average. You can’t leave it to one man. Bumrah needs support from other bowlers otherwise it is going to be a very tough series for India. #ENGvsIND
