So often, people who follow my work enjoy seeing a project from start to finish. This is the rough layout for my Save the Endangered Species project. I already know that I'll be cropping the border before I start hooking it. So I'll post as I go. I hope you enjoy it!

Today marks our 44th wedding anniversary! My husband and I dated in high school and through college, then got married a year after we graduated. We raised three amazing sons and we are grateful every day for a long and happy marriage. 🥰
Time for working on the new project is scant, as I'm preparing to teach a workshop soon and won't have much spare time. But I did get some more feathers filled in, so that's better than nothing! ☺️

So, I have already started a new rug. A fellow rug hooker is organizing a group project that features animals on the Endangered Species list. It's an awareness theme to show animals on the list, and I chose the Scarlet Macaw. I'm excited to be part of it and I'll post updates☺️

I just added some metal gears and doodads here and there on the rug to embellish certain areas. It's fun and adds a little texture, too. So it's all finished now! ☺️

Seems my finished self portrait photo has disappeared. 🤔🫢 I finished it Thursday and am very happy with how it turned out. So here I am again, for those who may have missed it. 🥰

It's finished! I am so pleased with this self-portrait and very happy to see my concept finished and just as I imagined it. Started on Valentine's Day and finished before Memorial Day. Yippee!

All finished but the border! Wheee! Hope to finish the whole edge tomorrow.☺️

Added more background, really happy with how things are filling out. Once the remaining area is filled in, I'll add the remaining border. Can't wait for this to be completed!☺️

Filling in background and borders, working my way to the top. It's been a fun rug to make and I can't wait to be finished!

I'm playing with the borders now, and added a tail to the gray squirrel. ☺️

My mom's yearbook caption under her photo read: “Her smile describes her.” And it truly did. She's been gone two years and I miss her every day.❤️

Reworked the lettering, added background, started border edges. Little bits, but still moving forward.☺️

Back from teaching a workshop and getting some time to work on my self portrait.

No matter how many available spaces there are for Molly to sit, she always goes for a pile of my dyed wool.
