My Dad was driving an Acura Legend back when it was just a Rumor!
Watching XMen days of future past. Loving it, but the audio goes from blasting out my speakers to What did he say? Over and over.
Here's a fun English language trick. Out of the entire number line only 1 is singular. 1 "dollar" 2 "dollars" 0 "dollars" -100 "dollars" even -1 "dollars" even 1.00001 "dollars" Only 1 gets the singular form.
Stupid Writer Trick. I wrote my book to tell a story. I'm semi-retired, so I don't badly need the sales. Now I'm working on the prequel (because it was so fun to write). But lackluster sales make me unmotivated to keep going. Even though it was never about the money.
My daughters bought me a mower robot. I'm thinking of streaming a mow every couple of days. Just gotta figure out how to get a camera mounted.
I went to a Tubes concert decades ago. The second the band came out, everyone stood up in front of us. So we stood up. Then the rows in front of us couldn't see, so they stood on their chairs. I spent the evening watching the "butts" instead of the Tubes. True story.
I wrote a haiku after a windstorm. Windy windy wind. Blowing, howling furious. Where's my garbage can?
I thought I would upgrade to Grok4 but the answer to every question seems to be "Pay me $30 a month". Grok 3 is just fine.
Staying locked in indecision is a choice you make as well.
So I'm working on my Prequel. The current book is set in present-ish day, and the prequel is about 5 to 10 years earlier. I don't want to indulge in the trope of brick-sized cell phones and vinyl records, is it OK to just write it as present-day as well?
I have been a coder since 1986. The online community for that is pretty awesome. But I just published my first book and joined the writing community here and I just have to toss some flowers your way as well. I feel welcome here. So much support and advice.
Try writing a character who always uses the wrong words and watch Word have an aneurism. Ma said not ta sign up fer no magazine perscriptions!
This is the character select screen from a little video game project I just started today. The robots are placeholders.
breitbart.com/tech/2025/07/1… I have been a programmer since 1986. If I had EVER set an admin password to 123456, I would’ve been run out of the industry.
My first book is released today but I hate spamming, so find me on Amazon. Love to hear your thoughts if you read it.
