On Saturday the Minneapolis DFL endorsed Senator @OmarFatehMN for Mayor on the second ballot at this year’s City Convention. As our Chair Chelsea McFarren told WCCO, residents are ready to move on from the divisiveness and incompetence of Mayor Frey and elect a new mayor.

Frey campaign immediately jumping to “Stop the Steal” is really showing their true colors. You got out organized. @OmarFatehMN won because he’s presenting Minneapolis with a real vision for our city where no one is getting left behind. We’re done with Frey’s lies and cynicism.

Since Saturday’s convention, many people have reached out to ask if I will be challenging the DFL endorsement. I want to be clear: I will not challenge the endorsement and will not collaborate with those who are challenging the endorsement.

Weird it needs to be said but to deny quorum YOU NEED HALF THE VOTES! Team Frey is not the first to see they’re losing at convention, fail to delay through procedural tactics, stage a dramatic walkout, and then unsuccessfully challenge quorum. It happened in Ward 9 in ‘17.🧵

We are excited and energized by the big wins for Labor and Democratic Socialists at the DFL convention yesterday. A better world is possible, and I am here for it!

To be clear, Mayor Frey is in fact in favor of a handful of delegates deciding the future of Minneapolis. He’d just prefer they were from PACs, suburbanites, landlords & developers, business coalitions, and the ultra wealthy.
