🚨Today, the Labour Government has finally delivered justice for the Mineworkers’ Pension Scheme👇
Forty years on from the appalling events that took place at Orgreave during the 1984 miners' strike, people in Barnsley and across the coalfields deserve to know the truth. I am proud that this Labour Government have announced an inquiry into Orgreave👇
On 18 June 1984, the violent clashes at Orgreave and the discredited evidence that followed left lasting scars on the community. This autumn, a public inquiry will begin to uncover the truth, holding those responsible to account and helping to restore confidence in policing.
Excited to be in Geneva cheering on the @Lionesses tonight in their semi final match! ⚽️🦁🏴

It was an honour to lead the debate in the House of Commons last night to commemorate 80 years since Victory over Japan 🇬🇧
I just wanted to say thank you to @Keir_Starmer @10DowningStreet @lisanandy @Steph_Peacock & @dcms officials for delivering the Football Governance Act, establishing an Independent Regulator. It was a long time coming! For the sake of fans, clubs & the sport, I wish it well.
Commons now on the debate on the 80th anniversary of victory over Japan
Today the Football Governance Bill has become law. This will protect the future of football and put fans back at the heart of the game ⚽️
It’s official - the Football Governance Bill has now become law. Our Labour Government has stood with fans who’ve long called for reform. This means stronger protections for clubs, more sustainable finances, and fans put back at the heart of the game - where they belong ⚽️
There is no place for racism in football or anywhere in society. I stand with Jess, the Lionesses, and any players who have suffered racism, on and off the pitch.
We stand with Jess, and all #Lionesses players past and present who have suffered racism. A message from the squad:
