It's painful that we work everyday even in weekends and we don't get paid full of our salary
We have made efforts to engage the hospital CMD, who claims the issue is “nationwide” and that interns are paid based on what the FG disburses. However, fact-checks with interns in other FG hospitals prove this is untrue—they are receiving full pay.
This is unfair and unsustainable. We do not work 75% shifts, so why should we be paid 75% salaries? Many of us commute daily from Enugu town. Some support families. These deductions are unjust and demoralizing.
Us . Since March 2025, interns at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) have been receiving only 75% of their rightful monthly salary. Despite our appointment letters stating we are to be paid COHESS 08 Step 02, the hospital has failed to fulfill this.
