The Cicero D99 Summer Literacy Symposium was absolutely worth the 2.5-hour drive this morning! A day full of knowledge, learning, and best practices to take back to our teams. Thanks to @benzulauf2 and the entire crew for hosting a fantastic event!
We also need to make sure our students are accessing their whole linguistic repertoire. That is a lot of word knowledge to work through!! @Amplify @D99Cicero #SOLin99
Whoa. So it’s a lot when you’re thinking about a linguistic repertoire that’s more than one language. So much more has to be automatic and explicitly taught…it’s a lot but the benefits are huge! #SOLin99 @D99Cicero
Woah, @benzulauf2 does it again! Another D99 Cicero Literacy Symposium that simultaneously leaves me proud of the work we have done in @D99Cicero and ready to conquer the next chapter! Sherlock’s next move to systematize and align our fluency instruction loading….
So thrilled to be at the @D99Cicero Summer Literacy Symposium!
The scaffolds the teacher provides in the scaffold helps develop the linguistic complexity students need! #SOLin99 @SoniaCabell @D99Cicero

When information is meaningless, it doesn’t get remembered. Meaningful thinking about the information and content is critical. This is why conceptual fluency is so important—it makes those facts truly meaningful! #SOLinD99

Giggling at @burnsmk1's SSSR practitioner day slides... 🫢 Y'all, pls focus on isolation, blending, & segmenting.
Every few years we rediscover that learning is hard work and effortful in the short term. Then we spend the next few years trying to make it fun and effortless again.
